Before “V for Vendetta” took the world by storm in 2005, there was history–and by extension a far less glamorous version of Guy Fawkes understood by the masses. Nevertheless, every November 5th, Britons gather in Lewes, England (also known as the bonfire capital of the world) to celebrate Fawkes’ foiled plan to blow up the House of Lords in 1605.
