Located in Ellora, Maharashtra, the Kailasa Temple is an 8th century building that is a heady combination of Buddhist cave architecture and a Hindu temple. It is carved in rock with a mandep in the middle and five shrines also cut into surrounding stone. The ceiling is decorated with lions and circles.

Jaisalmer Fort is located in Jaisalmer city in Rajasthan and was built in 1156 AD by the ruler of the time, Rawal Jaisal. It is one of the largest forts in the world and has been the site of many battles throughout history. The building is constructed of sandstone, which alters in color depending on the time of the day, and is surrounded by two temples, four gateways and stunning havelis (large houses) carved from gold sandstones.
