According to police testimony, Moran admitted to having sex with a student under the age of 18 on two separate occasions at her home.
In another case of sexual assault in an American high school, a Michigan substitute teacher was arrested this week for having sex with one of her students.
The Lansing State Journal reports that Allyson Brittany Moran, 26, was arrested last Thursday on charges of sexually assaulting a student from Stockbridge High School, Michigan in April.
Moran was a substitute teacher who worked at the Stockbridge Community School District for the 2016-17 school year as a long-term substitute teacher and girls soccer coach. School officials say that as a substitute teacher, Moran was employed by a third-party teacher staffing company, and is no longer affiliated with the school district.
It was during this time that Moran allegedly had sex with a student under the age of 18 on two separate occasions at her home in Dansville, MI.
In August of this year, the student came forward and revealed that he and Moran had sex. At this point, Moran confessed to police about her illicit relationship with the student.
She also admitted to sending nude photos of herself to the student via social media.
Court documents reveal that a police officer testified that Moran had admitted all these facts during a pretrial hearing.
Moran is a married Mount Zion native and a graduate of Millikin University. She has now been charged with three felony counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct involving a student, and one misdemeanor count of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct involving a student.
If convicted, she could face up to 15 years in prison.
Moran is currently out on bail and is awaiting trial. A preliminary hearing is set for October 5th.
