The Shortest Married Couple: Paulo Gabriel Da Silva Barros And Katyucia Lie Hoshino

Shortest Married Couple

Guinness World RecordsAt a combined height of 71.42 inches, they are the shortest married couple in the world.

When Paulo Gabriel da Silva Barros and Katyucia Lie Hoshino decided to tie the knot in 2016, they became the shortest married couple in the world.

The pair, both of whom are from Brazil, first met online back in 2006. Years later, the two made it official — and so did Guinness World Records.

The couple has a combined height of 71.42 inches, and they both stand just under 3 feet tall each.

“We may be short but we have big hearts and lots of love for each other as well as everybody in our lives,” the couple said, according to Guinness World Records. “Our life isn’t without its challenges but we are so happy we can tackle these challenges together.”

Paulo Gabriel da Silva Barros works as a civil servant for his local government, and Katyucia Lie Hoshino owns a beauty salon. Though both attract attention for their small size — and sometimes negative attention — they find it much easier to handle when they’re side by side.

They got married on Sept. 17, 2016 and Guinness World Records officially declared the two as the record holders on Nov. 3, 2016.
