Rosa Isabel Cespede Callaca: The Woman Who Knocked On Her Casket Lid To Be Let Out

Rosa Isabel Cespede Callaca

CENChaos ensued at Rosa Isabel Cespede Callaca’s funeral when the “dead” woman banged on her casket.

On March 26, 2022, 36-year-old Rosa Isabel Cespede Callaca shocked her family members during a funeral procession in Lambayque, Peru — when she began banging from the inside of her own casket.

Per Revolt, Callaca had been involved in a horrific car crash — one that left her brother-in-law dead and her nephews critically injured.

Initially, Callaca was believed to have died alongside her brother-in-law.

As it turned out, she hadn’t, and her friends and family opened her casket to find the woman inside very much alive, sweating, with her eyes wide open.

They quickly called the police and rushed her to Referential Hospital Ferrenafe, where doctors confirmed that Callaca was indeed alive and hooked her up to a life-support machine as they treated her.

Much to the relief of Callaca’s loved ones, her condition actually began to improve after she was put on life support — which only made it even more shocking when just hours later, she died for real in the hospital.

“We want to know why my niece reacted yesterday when we were taking her to be buried,” one of her aunts — who remained anonymous — said.

Another baffled family member told news outlets, “We have the videos in which she pushes and touches the coffin.”

It’s possible that Callaca had been in a coma when she was declared deceased. But despite a police investigation into the situation at the hospital, no evidence one way or the other has been made public.
