Jyoti Amge is an Indian actress. Standing just under 2 feet, 1 inch tall, she currently holds the record for the shortest living woman.

Amge was born on Dec. 16, 1993, in Nagpur, Maharashtra, India. Until she was about five years old, Amge’s height was that of a typical growing child.

However, as her classmates continued to grow taller, Amge significantly slowed down. Born with dwarfism, her ability to grow was restricted.

In 2009, Amge was declared the shortest living female teenager by Guinness World Records. Once Amge turned 18 in 2011, she was remeasured and she was declared the shortest living woman by the organization.

Amge is 62.8 centimeters tall, or 2 feet, 0.7 inches. After her record was announced, Amge was able to begin pursuing some of her dreams.

“I would love to travel to London and to see the different world there,” Amge said. “I would love to act in films.”

And she did just that. Not only did she make it to London, but she also traveled to other iconic places like New York City, all while enjoying her fame.

“When people see me and recognize me, they all want to take a photograph with me… That makes me feel really good,” Amge said.

She also began fulfilling her dream of becoming an actress, appearing in the Indian reality TV show Bigg Boss and in the FX horror anthology series American Horror Story, playing the character Ma Petite.
