Bridgette Jordan, One Of The Shortest People In The World — Whose Record Was Beaten By Jyoti Amge

Hughey Funeral HomeFor a few months, Bridgette Jordan held the title of the shortest living woman.
In September 2011, Bridgette Jordan was declared the world’s shortest living woman by Guinness World Records. Standing just 2 feet, 3 inches tall, Jordan held the title for only a few short months in 2011, before the record was quickly broken by Jyoti Amge that December 2011.
Jordan was born on June 9, 1989 in St. Louis, Missouri, but her family later moved to Sandoval, Illinois. Her height was attributed to a rare condition called Majewski osteodysplastic primordial dwarfism type II.
Her younger brother, Brad Jordan, was also born with the condition. In fact, the two were both once named the shortest living siblings by Guinness. Sadly, Brad died in 2017 when he was just 25 years old.

Hughey Funeral HomeBridgette Jordan, one of the shortest people in the world, loved to dance and participate in cheerleading.
At the time she broke the record, Jordan was a student at Kaskaskia College. She enjoyed cheerleading and dancing, and participated in the cheer team at Kaskaskia. She was also a member of the Little People Of America.
“I believe that everyone should be confident in themselves,” Jordan said around the time she earned her title.
Unfortunately, Jordan died at just 30 years old in 2019.
