The final entry on our list of the tallest people in the world is Ekaterina Lisina. The Russian-born model is “only” 6 feet, 9 inches tall, but she once held the Guinness World Record for having the longest legs among women (she was only recently beaten by Maci Currin of Texas).
Born in Russia in 1987, Lisina came from a long line of long-limbed family members. Her father is 6 feet, 5 inches, her mother is 6 feet, 1 inch, and her brother is 6 feet, 6 inches. When she was born, Lisina’s father immediately noticed her long legs, which he says she “got… from her parents.”

After finding athletic success with basketball — Lisina was part of the silver medal team at the World Cup in Germany in 2006 and was on the Olympic bronze medal team in China in 2008 — Lisina turned to the world of fashion.
Now, she holds the Guinness World Record for the tallest professional model, a title she has maintained since 2017.
Though Lisina’s height means that she’s often subjected to stares in public, the model is generally happy with her stature.
“I can walk much faster than other people,” she explained to Guinness World Records in 2017. She also hopes that she can “be an inspiration to girls who are not very confident,” especially those who are struggling with body image.
