Busted For Bringing Drugs To A Drug Bust
If you’re carrying methamphetamine in your pocket, it might be best to steer clear of a drug bust. According to Pensacola News Journal, that’s exactly what 42-year-old Milton man Jimmy Dean Phillips didn’t do.
The Florida man had encroached on an official drug bust in a Milton’s Cherub Circle home and was subsequently searched by the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit.
The resident, Jennifer Holly Campbell, was arrested as well when authorities found a substantial amount of meth, heroin, marijuana, and Oxycodone in her house.
The woman also had digital scales, plastic baggies, and notebooks of transactions in the house.
The sheer gall of Phillips, however, makes his story all the more confounding.
Not only did Phillips know Campbell (and presumably of her line of work), but he also simply walked up to two deputies in her home and began a conversation.
One of the deputies had a badge around his neck and the other a Sheriff’s Office vest.
Phillips then reportedly told the two officers that he was there to see the resident — which obviously necessitated a search of his person.
That’s when they found his personal stash and took him into custody. According to jail records, Phillips was held without bond while Campbell was miraculously released on a $7,500 bond.
Methamphetamine is one hell of a drug.
