Best Super Bowl Commercials: E-Trade: Talking Baby (2008)
https://youtu.be/X4GZfvXx9Js
This advertisement, also from E-Trade, is incredible for a lot of reasons. Babies are always an effective marketing tool, but when the baby talks like an adult in an adult’s voice it’s even better.
E-Trade claims that their site is so easy to use that even a baby can buy stock with just one click. Nobody is too young to invest, apparently.
Snickers: Betty White (2010)
Anytime the superstar that is Betty White is involved in a project, you know it’s guaranteed to be a hit, and Snickers invited her to create probably one of the most creative ads that have ever been made.
Betty White is playing football with a bunch of dudes and not excelling. But it’s actually not Betty White, because the other players are calling her Mike. One friend says, “You’re playing like Betty White out there.” Then Mike’s girlfriend gives him a Snickers, and suddenly White disappears and Mike the man is back in business.
The message? “You’re not you when you’re hungry,” which is absolutely a true fact.
The Super Bowl commercial is funny, incredibly well executed, and most importantly, memorable.
