A Devilish Break-In
The third case of a wild home invasion on our crime news stories countdown is a little less uplifting and a little more bewildering than the others.
While the Lewis family of Chesterfield, Virginia were enjoying their first night in their new home, they got the fright of their lives when a woman claiming to be the devil broke in.
As Mr. Lewis was sitting in the living room, a woman with “black eyes” broke into the home and accosted him. She was naked from head to toe and laughing hysterically. When Lewis issued a verbal warning, she seemed unfazed.
That’s when he brought out his gun.
“I said ‘Who are you?’ She said ‘I need your help, please help me.’ I said ‘get out of my house,’ and she goes ‘I’m the devil.'”
Then he opened fire. Despite firing 39 shots, the woman wasn’t slowed down. Luckily, the shots awoke the rest of the Lewis family, who banded together to fend off the woman.
Ultimately, it was Lewis’ bold 12-year-old son who deescalated things when he stabbed the woman in the neck with a wrench.
“She looked possessed, her eyes were completely black, like saucers, and she was laughing like it was a joke,” the father recalled to reporters. “She was not stopping. She had the strength of four grown men.”
The woman was apprehended after the attack and was brought to a local hospital. The Lewis family, fortunately, escaped unscathed.
