Opened in 2011, 8 Spruce Street is a 76-story residential skyscraper designed by Frank Gehry. While the building is certainly wee in age, it isn’t in size. In fact, the soaring tower has the distinction of being the twelfth tallest building in the world and the second highest building in the Western Hemisphere.
Adding to the building’s distinction is the fact that it’s filled entirely with rental apartments and has its own on-site elementary school.
