The U.S. Government Confirmed That UFOs Are Real

Some of the craziest weird news stories in recent decades have had to do with UFOs, and all of them were routinely dismissed by the United States government — if they were acknowledged at all. But in 2020, the U.S. government admitted that it has also captured UFOs on film and that they were as mystified by them as everyone else.

Before this announcement, U.S. Naval footage of UFOs was leaked in 2007 and 2017. Last year, in a presumably purposeful move to acclimate the public, the Navy announced that it was drafting new internal guidelines for reporting these incidents. In April 2020, they released declassified footage.

The Pentagon released three videos that showed pilots following and commenting on what are now called “unidentified aerial phenomena” (UAP). The first was captured in 2004, and the others were recorded in 2015. So what were the decades-long denials for?

The UFO footage in question.

“After a thorough review, the department has determined that the authorized release of these unclassified videos does not reveal any sensitive capabilities or systems, and does not impinge on any subsequent investigations of military air space incursions by unidentified aerial phenomena,” said Sue Gough, a Department of Defense spokesperson.

Gough essentially explained that confirming the veracity of this footage didn’t put the country in any danger. The footage itself, however, is both harrowing and invigorating. For one, the movement of these vessels is not achievable according to our understanding of physics or propulsion.

One of the videos showed an object 40 feet long hovering 50 feet above the Pacific before darting into the sky at speeds that baffle professional pilots. After witnessing this, the two pilots at the scene left to meet at a prearranged rendezvous point 60 miles away and found the UAP waiting for them.

For now, all we can do is watch the skies and wait to see if more weird news stories land from outer space.
