From the pristine waters of Thailand to the pink beaches of Jamaica, see the world's most beautiful beaches you need to visit.
The World’s Most Beautiful Beaches: Bora Bora, Tahiti
Pora Pora, Bora Bora’s original name, means “first born” in Tahitian, signaling the island’s role in the local myth of Hiro and his son Ohatatama.
In 1769, James Cook saw Bora Bora on his voyage to French Polynesia. Years later in World War II, the island was home to a US military supply base. While reminders of the island’s war-torn past still exist, they have yet to detract from the beach’s inherent beauty.
No amount of words come even close to describing the beauty of the Bora Bora Island beaches. We could mention the emerald waters embracing the flawless white sand, the hibiscus valleys, the over-water bungalows, and the towering mountains, mirrored on the waters surface. Or, you could just judge one of the world’s most beautiful beaches for yourself:
Providenciales Island, Turks and Caicos
Known commonly as “Provo,” Providenciales Island is surrounded by one of the largest, healthiest coral reef systems in the world, making it a popular attraction for divers. Tropical fish peek from the clear waters and a vast array of aquatic wildlife can be found just a hop, skip and a dive from the miles of white beaches.
TripAdvisor ranked Providenciales Island the best beach of 2011 and it’s not hard to understand why. The Providenciales covers an area of 38 miles, the majority of which is covered in white sand beaches disappearing beneath the ebb and flow of turquoise waters. The best of these beaches, and a long coral reef teeming with aquatic life, can be found on the north shore of the island in Grace Bay.
The World’s Most Beautiful Beaches: Phi Phi Islands, Thailand
Phi Phi Island consists of two smaller islands: Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Leh, a smaller island with limited access.
Together, these make up Phi Phi island, a gorgeous coast that is situated between Phuket and the Western Andaman sea. Made famous by the Leonardo DiCaprio film The Beach, these idyllic shores of pristine, white sand easily snag a place as one of the world’s most beautiful beaches.
With crystal clear waters that allow visitors to glimpse the sea critters and coral underneath, the beaches of Phi Phi Island are obviously a popular tourist attraction.
Being larger, Phi Phi Don provides a place for guests to dine and stay, while Phi Phi Leh offers an array of spectacular beaches, including Phaya Naak (meaning Viking Cave), which contains prehistoric cave paintings.
Pink Sands Beach, Harbour Island, Bahamas
Harbor Island is touted as one of the world’s best diving spots. In the waters surrounding the Pink Sands Beach the water is shallow and calm, both of which are optimal conditions for divers. While the Bahamas often get a reputation for being touristy and overdone, Harbor Island and the Pink Sands Beach provide guests with a more elegant, laid-back vibe.

Three miles of cherry pink sand blankets the most popular beach in the Bahamas and one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The aptly named Pink Sands Beach acquires its color from the tiny-shelled creatures, Foraminifera, which cover the ocean floor, cave rocks and reefs, and whose broken shells mingle with the sand. The resulting effect is particularly potent at dusk.
World’s Most Beautiful Beaches: “Seven Mile Beach”, Jamaica
White hammocks dangling between leaning Palm trees? Check. Rugged, cliff-side coastline? Check. White sand, clear waters, coral, amazing sea creatures, beautiful beaches, and prime tanning spots? Check, check and check.

Negril’s seven-mile beach has been included on various lists of the world’s most beautiful beaches. With both huge, all-inclusive resorts and all-natural, unspoiled landscapes, the land offers visitors a diverse travel experience. Negril is part of Jamaica, the third-largest island in the Caribbean and a location that’s known for its easygoing approach to life.
Anse Source D’argent, Seychelles
The secluded beach of Anse Source D’Argent was once believed to be the location of the Garden of Eden, the paradise of all paradises. Surrounded by the emerald waters of the Indian Ocean and granite cliffs, and covered in coconut palm trees planted on faded pink sand, that theory might just be right.

Tucked away within the vast Indian Ocean, the surrounding archipelago contains more than a hundred pristine islands that remain unchanged by human civilization. Anse Source d’Argent is one of the most popular beaches, known for its pink sands, calm waters and incredible boulders. Unlike many other beautiful beaches, Anse Source D’argent is secluded, quiet and waiting to be explored.
