Malcolm “King Kong” Kirk
Most knew 1970s professional British wrestler King Kong Kirk due to his memorable and massive size. The real-life giant met his end in 1987 during a match with Shirley “Big Daddy” Crabtree after Crabtree performed his “belly splash” move on Kirk.
Crabtree inundated Kirk with fleshy-waves until he noticed that Kirk appeared to have stopped moving and turned a strange color. It was later discovered at the hospital that Kirk had suffered from a heart attack during the “belly splash” and died instantly in one of th most unusual deaths in wrestling history.
Unusual Deaths: Grigori Rasputin, The Mad Monk
Employed by the Tsar to heal his son, Alexei Grigori Rasputin was a spiritual healer before becoming an influential figure in pre-Revolution Tsarist circles. While there are conflicting stories about his life and death, the legend of his demise is one of the most unusual and renown.
According to the story, Rasputin was poisoned, shot, stabbed, and drowned but only succumbed to death after being viciously beaten by his assailants after they “rescued” him from the river. Modern scientists have managed to poke holes in the outlandish story, but its absurd nature has withstood the weights of reality.
