Burano, Italy

This quaint island town shares a lagoon with Venice, but it sets itself apart quite nicely with its purposeful color palette and reputation for lace-making. This is where Leonardo DaVinci shopped for and purchased the material he used on the altar at the Duomo di Milano. Today, the streets are lined with lace stores, ice cream shops, and small artisan stands.
