Each year the Nabana no sato flower garden and hot springs facility transforms into the largest display of winter lights in all of Japan. Located in Kuwana City (Mie Prefecture), the park uses more than 5.8 million lights to decorate the gardens from October to March. Visit the park in the daytime to see the garden’s massive displays of seasonal blooms.

While Atlanta Botanical Gardens’ winter light display is relatively new (they were displayed for the first time in 2011), it is one of the most spectacular in the country. Decorated with over one million twinkling lights, the gardens are transformed into brightly lit forests and sculptures. These holiday lights move in time with the music, creating a magical winter experience:
