The Battle of Aegospotami was the last major battle of the Peloponnesian War.

The Spartan fleet, led by Commander Lysander (whose name is also a fun rhyme), nearly wiped out the entire Athenian navy. Only nine ships escaped, one of which raced to inform Athens of the horrible event.

The fiercely loyal people of Athens were devastated and only surrendered when the entire population was on the verge of starvation.
